Rapha Women’s 100 Ride

 

Around the world, women get together on this day to celebrate riding bikes. Some will ride 100 km, others will ride for 100 minutes.

There will be an organized Women’s 100 Ride within Windsor Essex on Sunday, September 18, 2022.

Early registration: Until midnight on Saturday, September 10 – $25

Regular registration:  Sunday, September 11 until day-of – $35

There are 2 ways to register:

1. E-transfer the fee directly to Kim ( kimaroch@sympatico.ca ). If a password is required please message me the answer. Be sure to specify which ride you are registering for (100 min or 100 km)

2. Register in person at Cycle Culture 12218 Tecumseh Rd E 519-735-0404, Tue – Fri Open 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., Sat Open 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sun – Mon Closed. Be sure to bring the exact amount of money and specify which ride you are registering for (100 min or 100 km).

Note that if the event maxes out at 50 riders prior to September 18, then there won’t be any day of registrations. Note that 100% of the registration fees are used directly for the event.

There will be a prep-ride on Saturday, August 20, 10:30 am. Starting from Cycle Culture, this is about a 1.5 to 2 hour ride.

A second prep-ride will take place on Wednesday, August 31 departing from Cycle Culture at 5:45 p.m. These will be road rides and will be about 1.5 – 2 hours each Road bikes only and helmets are mandatory. This is a good place to learn group riding etiquette.

Pre-registration is not needed for the prep-rides.

September 18:

The 100 minute ride will be departing from Cycle Culture. The exact time will be determined in the near future however it will be at approximately 1:00 – 1:30 p.m. Stay tuned. There will be 2 awesome ride leaders for this relaxed social ride with breaks. All types of bikes can be used including cruisers, hybrids and mountain bikes. Plan to ride mostly on paved paths around Blue Heron, Little River and Ganatchio Trail areas.

The 100 km ride will be departing from Cycle Culture. The exact time will be determined in the near future however it will be at approximately 9:00 – 9:30 a.m. Stay tuned. There will be 3 – 4 awesome ride leaders for this social yet long ride. Road bikes only can be used. Note that tri bikes can be used as along as the tri bars are not used at any time. Cyclocross or gravel bikes with the right gearing can also be used with skinny tires. If you’re not sure if you have the proper bike please email Kim kimaroch@sympatico.ca  and she can help you.
